Museums do essential work for the community in collecting, preserving and transmitting cultural heritage. Their resources are assured by the material and financial support of the public authorities, as well as by the generosity of patrons and societies of friends of museums.
Despite the generous support of these contributors, museums, like many institutions of public utility, are faced with the challenge of financial sustainability. This involves retaining current patrons and partners, as well as acquiring new private support to complement public funding. By understanding the main steps of the fundraising cycle and through case studies, participants in this participatory workshop will identify the best actions, techniques, tools and communication materials needed to optimize and expand their fundraising strategies with different segments of private donors.
COURSE OBJECTIVE
To define concrete actions that will allow you to retain your current patrons and donors and to acquire new private supporters for your museum and your specific projects.
